Overview
base0x (“we”, “us”) provides browser-based conversion tools. This Privacy Policy explains what information is involved when you use the site, how conversions are processed, and how we use analytics.
Conversions stay in your browser
Number-base and encoding conversions (including Base64 and URL tools) run locally in your browser. The text or numbers you enter into converters are not uploaded to our servers for processing. We do not store conversion input or output on our systems.
Information we collect
We do not require an account to use base0x. We do not ask you to submit personal profiles through the conversion tools.
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically receive standard technical data when you visit — such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps — as part of serving pages securely. That data is used for operations and security, not for reading your conversion content.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the site is used in aggregate. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device/browser characteristics, and referral source. We also record a custom event when a tool successfully completes a conversion (page path only — not the values you typed).
Google may process this data according to its own policies. You can learn more about Google’s practices and available controls in Google’s documentation for Analytics and advertising preferences. Browser settings, extensions, or Google’s opt-out tools may limit some analytics collection.
Analytics helps us improve performance, discover which tools matter most, and fix issues. It is separate from conversion processing: your converter input is not sent to Google Analytics as content.
Cookies and similar technologies
Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to distinguish visits and measure usage. Theme preference (light/dark) may be stored locally in your browser so the site looks the way you chose on return visits.
Third-party services
Aside from hosting and Google Analytics, the conversion tools themselves do not depend on third-party APIs that receive your input. External links (if any) are governed by those sites’ own policies.
Children
base0x is a general-purpose developer utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected by updating that date.
